The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine concludes the seventh national competition for the art of public speaking

The Public Relations Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine has concluded the seventh national competition for the art of public speaking for school students.

The competition was supervised by the University and School Relations Division of the Department.

The closing ceremony of the competition began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reciter Muslim Aqeel, and then the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the national anthem and the anthem of the holy shrine (Pride's melody).

The ceremony included several events, including a speech by the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, delivered by Dr. Ahmed al-Sheikh, through which he explained that "the participants came from twenty different directorates to confirm their affiliation to the lofty idea and noble goal set by the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in its priorities, where the awareness investment for young minds and work to recover them from the slides of whims".

He added that"it is necessary to take care of boys and young people, especially students, who are the future that we are all waiting for, to build a sound society, and today the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine translates this in practice by hosting student and Scout activities, competitions and festivals in various religious, Quranic, cultural, artistic and sports fields."

This was followed by a speech by the Ministry of Education delivered by the director of the Minister's office; Mr. Ahmad al-Maliki, stating that "the activity of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine was not limited to Karbala governorate, but included the governorates of Iraq from North to South, and this is a positive indicator, giving great confidence that the work is successful, and today we are meeting at the conclusion of the National Public Speaking art competition, in which twenty directorates from various governorates participated".

The ceremony included a speech by the judging committee delivered by Dr. Saeed Hamid, in which he said, "today we witness that your words have great significance, their impact is great and their results are joyful, they deserve praise, as you are promising voices who embodied the historical extension in realizing the goals, so the voice of Iraqis remains high".

At the end, the poet and writer Najah al-'Ersan and the Munshid Mohammed al-Tamimi delivered the poems special for this occasion and the cheerful chants befitting the competition, and concluded the ceremony by honoring the 60 students who participated in the competition, in addition to honoring the representative of the Ministry of Education; Sayed Ahmad al-Maliki and honoring the twenty directorates participating in the competition.
