Mourning processions to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) at the shrines of his two sons

The Karbala funeral processions commemorated the sad martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful and the Master of the Pious: Imam Ali (peace be upon him), at the shrines of his two sons Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

Funeral processions are considered a custom that the people of Karbala were keen to establish, whether it was on this sad anniversary, or other occasions of infallible imams (peace be upon them), a tradition they have inherited generation after generation.

"Every year the Karbala processions serve Iftaar, and then go on a condolence March to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) to offer condolences on this sad anniversary,"said Mr. Ahmad Fatimi, one of the procession servants.

He added that since its establishment decades ago, processions have been providing services to visitors, commemorating the occasions of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), offering condolences to the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
