The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine concludes the activities of the central ceremony for the graduation of Iraqi university students

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine concluded the activities of the central graduation ceremony for Iraqi university students, with the participation of about 3000 students from various universities in Iraq.

The ceremony, which was held at the Al-Ameed Educational Complex of the Al-Abbas's Shrine, was attended by its Senior Official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, the secretary general of the holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea-Uddin, the director of the Office of its Senior Official; Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of officials of the holy shrine and heads of its departments, in addition to the presidents of universities and deans of participating colleges, as well as graduate students and figures representing academic and religious bodies.

The events of the central ceremony for the graduation of Iraqi university students began on Friday, with the wide participation of students from various provinces of Iraq, from the north of the country to the Far South.

The first period of the ceremony included the performance by about 3000 graduate students of the graduation oath of loyalty and honesty to serve the homeland and humanity, in front of the shrine of the Master of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), delivered by Dr. Abbas Rashid al-Mousawi, member of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

The first period of the ceremony was concluded with the performance of the graduate students for the ceremonies of the Ziyarat of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), within the activities of the second graduation ceremony of Iraqi university students.

The evening activities of the ceremony also included a speech to the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine delivered by His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, in which he stressed that the students of Iraqi universities represent the best and reliable nation in building the country.

This was followed by a speech by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered by its representative, Dr. Hamid Tamimi, through which he explained that the graduation ceremony of university students represented the Iraqi national spirit in Karbala.

This was followed by the presentation of the graduation anthem chanted by Yasser al-Karbalai, and a group of buds of the Al-Ameed Educational Group affiliated with the Holy Shrine, followed by a selection of poems by the poet Mohammed al-Fatimi, in addition to the recitation of hymns by the chanter Mohammed Amir Tamimi.

The ceremony also included a theatrical performance by the (Abaad) media team, followed by a speech to the graduate students delivered on their behalf by student Ali Fattah Yassin, in which he said, "recently we have seen an increase in awareness in organizing graduation ceremonies, to be befitting the heritage and culture of students of Iraq civilization, and this is what increased linking these ceremonies with some of the great symbols of Iraq, including the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the chanting of the graduation oath at the Holy Shrines has become a goal aspired to by most graduates after it was a limited thing".

The ceremony also included the University of Kufa honoring the Senior Officer of the al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, its secretary general; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea-Uddin, and the head of the public relations department at the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine; Mohammed Ali Azhar.

The ceremony concluded by thanking the organizers, students and academic and educational institutions for their continuous support for this annual ceremony.
