The director of the Arab organization (ACSAD) praises the Firdaws agricultural project

The director of the Arab Center for the studies of dry areas and arid lands (ACSAD) of the league of Arab states; Dr. Nasruddin al-Obaid, praised the Ferdaws agricultural project, one of the agricultural projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine.

The director of the Arab Organization for the studies of dry areas and arid lands said that "the agricultural Ferdaws project of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is a typical project for using a package of modern technologies used in the agricultural field, especially in desert and dry areas such as the one on which the project was established, by raising the efficiency of irrigation, dissemination, harvesting and using modern irrigation methods".

"During our visit to the project, we got acquainted with the most important crops produced by the project from strategic crops, such as potatoes, vegetables and wheat, which represent a high nutritional value for Iraqi food security and its local market," he added, pointing to "his readiness to open horizons of cooperation and exchange experiences to increase production in this vital and important project."

For his part, the director of the International Lewa Company implementing the project, engineer Adel al-Mi'mar, said that " the management of the strategic agricultural Ferdaws project of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, has briefed the delegation of the ACSAD organization of the league of Arab states, and its director, Dr. Nasruddin Al-Obaid and the advanced staff at the Ministry of Water Resources, on the details of the agricultural project and the most important achievements of National Agriculture during the past periods."

"The director of the Arab organization praised the agricultural Ferdaws project, after visiting it and familiarizing him with the various agricultural, environmental and productive aspects on which the strategic project stands, because it produces the most important agricultural crops involved in ensuring food security for the country,"he added.

He pointed out that "the aim of the delegation's visit is to inform him about the successes achieved by the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in the agricultural field, investing in desert lands to create a natural environment suitable for agriculture, as well as visiting green spaces that contribute to the fight against global warming, in addition to exchanging experiences in agricultural fields and enhancing joint cooperation".

After conducting a tour of the Ferdaws agricultural project, the delegation of the Arab organization, accompanied by the advanced staff at the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources, went to visit the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and the Al-Kafeel Museum of treasures and manuscripts of the holy shrine.
