The completion of the works of the formation of patterns and motifs for the triangles of the new grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)..

The official of the grid's factory that belongs to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the goldsmith Ra'd Hussein Al-Khafaji has announced the completion of all works of carving on the asphalt, as well as the formation of patterns and motifs for the triangles of the new grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), that are made of pure gold of 22 carat, which is deducted from the golden pieces that the visitors has put in the holy grid, copying the same ancient patterns and engravings of the current grid except that the previous engravings were made from silver and plated with gold's water.

Adding: "The implementation of the patterns and engravings on any metal is a difficult operation, and gold is at their forefront, as it is characterized by the difficulty of working on it, and since these triangles have been manufactured of pure gold, the procedure took a considerable time, as they worked on them for 10 months at a rate of 12 hours a day during which all the patterns were engraved on the asphalt on all the 28 triangles, by two triangles for each piece that is attached to the top of each buckle on both sides left and right."

He continued: "The manufacture of the new grid is considered a national rehabilitation of the Iraqi industry and the Iraqi creative workforce, as it is the first grid manufactured in Iraq exclusively by Iraqi hands, and it enjoys a high standard, specifications and features, which make it unique, as it maintains the original patterns and engravings being considered, according to the opinion of experts and specialists, the most beautiful ever."

The golden triangles pass through several stages of manufacturing, such as the stage of the formation of patterns and motifs of gold on the asphalt, to extract the final engravings that have baghdadi Abbassi origins, with a thickness of 1,25mm, which is a high thickness to get the weight of five kg for each triangle, with a depth of 52 cm and a length of 77 cm.

It is to mention that we kept for the new grid the same overall structure and engravings of the current one, with few additions, upgrades and modifications, because of its uniqueness design comparing to the grids of the whole world's holy shrines. Noting that the current grid was made in 1964 with funding from the supreme religious authority - at the time - The grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohsen Al-Hakeem. And, that the new grid of the shrine of the Master Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was manufactured in the workshops of the crafts' factory belonging to the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine with high quality, durability and accuracy. In fact it is the first grid which is entirely manufactured in Iraq with Iraqi handicrafts-men. It is also characterized by the originality of its engravings and decorations in addition to the fact that it keeps the same overall structure and engravings of the old one, with few additions, upgrades and modifications, because of its uniqueness design comparing to the grids of the holy shrines in Iraq and in the Islamic world.
