The road to heaven.. The Arba'een visitors arrive at Abi al-Khaseeb District

Visitors heading to Holy Karbala to commemorate the Arba'een of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) continue their march in Basra province.

The visitors arrived in the Abi al-Khaseeb area on the border of Basra city with hearts full of sadness, sorrow, altruism and sacrifice, while they will travel a distance of about 540 km to reach the Holy Karbala.

Sheikh Moayed al-Tamimi, a resident of Abu al-khaseeb district, said that "the Husseini processions in the district still receive crowds of visitors with a warm welcome and longing and provide them with various services".

"Visitors walking towards their Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) cover a distance of about 625 km, starting from the borders of the District to the Holy Karbala, while visitors coming from the al-Faw District have completed about 90 km so far,"he added.

Tamimi added that there is an increase in the number of Husseini processions in proportion to the increase in the number of visitors, especially with the presence of hundreds of visitors coming from the Gulf countries, who chose the path from the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border to the Holy Karbala.

The road taken by visitors witnesses a variety of services provided by the people through the service processions that spread on both sides of the road, including the provision of cold water and juices in light of high temperatures during the day.

The city of Basra is the southernmost point in Iraq from which visitors depart, and the people of the southern and central provinces join them, respectively.
