The secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea'-Uddin, said, "under the guidance of His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine has always raised the Black Flag Of Sorrow in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), where the flags of sorrow were distributed to the other holy shrines, to raise them at the same time in all of them".
"This mourning activity is being held for the second year in a row, near the imam al-Hassan gate (peace be upon him) at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, overlooking the area between the Two Holy Shrines,"he added.
The ceremony, which witnessed the presence of the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's(P) holy shrine; Sayed. Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dia-Uddin, the director of the Office of His Eminence the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine; Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of members of the holy shrine's Board of directors and heads of its departments, some of the respectful Sheikhs and a gathering of believers, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader; sayed Haydar Gelokhan, after which the Ziyarat of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) was read by Sayed Badri Mamitha, followed by a religious lecture by Sheikh Abdullah al-Dujaili.
After raising the flag of sorrow by the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea-Uddin, which was written and embroidered at the Holy Shrine, the poet Ali al-Saffar al-Karbalai ascended the podium to deliver a poem on the painful occasion, followed by the poet Mohammed al-Fatimi.
The ceremony concluded with the establishment of a condolence Council, which was revived by Radood; Mr. Ibrahim al-Sharoufi.
