At the Al-Kafeel Hospital.. Treatment of a forty-year-old woman with a vertebral fracture following a road accident

An Iraqi medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has successfully performed a lumbar and thoracic vertebral fixation operation on a forty-year-old woman who suffered a vertebral fracture following a road accident.

Dr. Khaled al-Sarraj, a specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, said,"We recently performed a successful operation, through which the lumbar and thoracic vertebrae were stabilized for a forty-year-old patient with a fracture of the second lumbar vertebra following a road accident, which caused her to have weak lower limbs."

"The operation was carried out after the necessary examinations were carried out, and it was decided to perform surgical intervention to remove the compression of the spinal cord and stabilize the damaged vertebrae,"he added.

According to al-Sarraj," the patient is in excellent health and regained the mobility of her limbs normally, after stabilizing the vertebrae and removing the compression from the spinal cord, "stressing that"the modern technologies provided by the hospital had a big role in the success of the operation."
