Green Belt: construction of Reed and Burdi houses in green oases to emulate the Iraqi heritage

The southern green belt department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine confirmed that the establishment of Reed and Burdi houses in green oases aims to emulate the Iraqi heritage.

The head of the Department, Mr. Nasser Hussein Miteb, said that"the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine has attached great importance to the green belt revival project, through planting it with multiple varieties of trees, in addition to enhancing its green spaces and making it an outlet for Karbala families, and giving an aesthetic character that mimics the Iraqi heritage".

He added that"the department built Reed and Burdi houses and huts inside the oases of the project, to simulate the most important landmarks of the southern Iraqi heritage, in addition to the construction of poetry houses that symbolize the life of the Bedouins in the deserts of the country, and the creation of surface lakes as a sign of the lakes in several Iraqi cities."

Through the Green Belt project, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine seeks to achieve the goals of Sustainable Development, Meet the challenges of climate change witnessed by the country, in addition to achieving economic and strategic feasibility through the planting of tens of thousands of Palms and various trees.
