Objectives of the fourth international Al-Kafeel Museum conference

The preparatory committee for the international Al-Kafeel Museum Conference announced the goals of the conference in its fourth edition.

The conference is held on the date (23 – 24/ 11/ 2023) in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), under the slogan (museums are a cultural identity) and under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

The chairman of the committee and the head of the Department of the Al-Kafeel Museum of treasures and manuscripts; Sayed Sadiq Lazim, said that "the committees supervising the conference worked to ensure that there was a great participation in its activities, including all specialists in this regard, through invitations addressed to Iraqi museums and archaeological departments at universities".

He added that " the objectives of the fourth edition of the conference calls for preserving the cultural heritage, supporting public and private departments and institutions, to establish specialized museums and develop their museum work, opening prospects for cooperation with local and International Museum and academic institutions, raising the performance of museums to enhance their administrative and technical performance, and highlighting the role of museums in promoting national culture.

The conference focuses on the role of museums in preserving the cultural heritage, designing them and promoting local and virtual culture on social networking sites, in addition to the role of Museum Media in promoting cultural identity, as well as museums and their role in sustainable development and dialogue of civilizations, and other axes related to maintenance and their role in preserving museum collections, and the educational mission of museums and their role in rooting cultural identity.
