Conclusion of the Thirteenth Annual International Martyrdom Festival in Wasit

The committee supervising the annual International Martyrdom Festival has concluded the activities of the thirteenth edition of the festival in Wasit governorate.

The festival was held under the slogan (Lady Fatima az-Zahra -peace be upon her – the best of the people of the Earth), for the period (the 24th of Jumada Ula to 8th Jumada Thaniya 1445 AH), to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the immaculate lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her).

The supervisor of the festival, Sheikh Hazem al-Aboudi, said that " the committee supervising the annual International Martyrdom Festival concluded the activities of the thirteenth edition of the festival by holding multiple religious and cultural activities," noting that "the events included the presentation of a representative scene embodying the incident of assault on Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her)".

He added that "eight departments of the Imam al-Hussayn (p) holy shrine and eight of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine participated in organizing various activities at the festival and made great efforts to make its events a success, in cooperation with the holy shrines."

"The festival targeted various segments of society, including women and youth, especially university students, and is another gateway to communicate with those segments,"he added.
