This came during the visit of a delegation from the planning and follow-up department at the Ministry of Agriculture to a number of projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine.
Assistant Chief Agricultural Engineer at the ministry, Mr. Ali Ghaleb Saadi, said that"the visit included viewing a number of the agricultural projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, including the al-Awali and Firdaws farms, and it was shown during the tour that these projects are pioneering at the level of Iraq and serve the agricultural sector, in addition to serving the Iraqi citizen and providing him with a food basket at affordable prices".
For his part, the director of Karbala Agriculture, Engineer Mohammad Jassim Al-Tayyar, said that"the holy shrine projects are one of the important projects located in the Karbala Desert, including the Firdaws farm, which was distinguished by industrial potato cultivation, as about a thousand dunums of this crop were planted during this season".
"The visit included the delegation's acquaintance with the winter plan prepared by the staff working in these projects in cooperation with the Karbala Agriculture Directorate, which provides continuous consultations in this aspect," he added, noting that "the delegation expressed its admiration for the modern farming methods followed by the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in its projects."
