Ahmed al-Sayed Ismail, a reader from the Republic of Egypt, won the first place in the seventh episode of the Al-Ameed Award International Quran Recitation Competition.
The competition is held by the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, with the participation of readers from (21) Arab and foreign countries, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Ismail said that"the Al-Ameed Award International Competition brought together people of the Quran from different parts of the Islamic world, and the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine warmly reflected with its reception and organization of this competition the generosity and hospitality of the Iraqi people".
He added that "these activities are not alien to the Holy threshold, as it has been interested in the Quranic issue for a long time, and organizes various events, councils and Quranic competitions, and they have many thanks and appreciation for their efforts in the service of the Holy Quran".
The seventh episode of the competition witnessed an Iraqi-style Quranic recitation by the reader of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them); Mustafa Qatad, and the contestants were, the winner of the seventh episode Ahmed al-Sayed Ismail from Egypt, the contestant Ayatollah Ahmed Shuri from Indonesia, the child Tammar Maytham from Iraq, and the contestant Abdul Quddus al-Baz from Pakistan.
The competition comes as one of the contributions of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to spread the Quranic culture, as the correct method for the goodness of the individual and society.
