A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital was able to perform an advanced operation on a baby girl suffering from a congenital malformation of the skull.
The specialist of Maxillofacial Surgery at the hospital, Dr. Ridhwan al-Taie: a successful surgery was performed on a one-year-old girl who was suffering from early fusion in the fontanelles, causing her to have an irregular growth in the skull, which made the forehead in the Shape of a triangle, as well as the convergence of the eye socket and increasing this convergence over time.
He added that the operation was carried out as planned, and through it we were able to open the fusion with the fontanels and open the roof of the eye socket with reshaping it to show the face in harmony with the brain socket and the bones of the forehead, pointing to the use of advanced techniques and special materials that ensured its success such as plates and soluble nails that do not hinder the development of the child.
