The infection control unit at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital organized training lectures on the correct methods of hand washing for the hospital staff.
The unit official, Mr. Saif Ahmad, said that " a series of training lectures were organized for the staff working at the hospital on the correct methods of hand washing and hygiene," indicating that "the lectures included the theoretical and practical aspects, through which the correct hand washing was applied using alcohol, in addition to explaining the five moments approved by the World Health Organization, namely (before contact with the patient, before cleaning and disinfection, after exposure to liquids from the patient's body, after contact with the patient, after contact with the patient's surroundings)".
Ahmad stressed the importance of holding these trainings, which raise awareness among the participants, and introduce them to the importance of hand hygiene and regular washing, as a key factor in preventing the spread of germs, especially antibiotic resistance, which is difficult to treat, and to maintain quality standards and reach the global reliability sought by the hospital.
