Ministry of foreign affairs: al-Abbas's (P) Shrine is an example to follow in the field of documenting terrorist crimes

Iraqi undersecretary of foreign affairs for political Planning Dr. Hisham al-Alawi stressed that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is an example to follow in the field of documenting terrorist crimes.

This came during his participation in the activities of the eighth edition of the annual Holy Defense fatwa cultural festival, which is organized by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the al-Wafi foundation for documentation and studies at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and the Al-Ameed scientific and intellectual Association, in celebration of the anniversary of the launch of the Holy Defense fatwa, under the slogan (the religious authority is a fort of the Islamic nation).

Al-Alawi said that"the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine has extended an invitation to us to attend the events of the festival and the conference dedicated to commemorating the martyrs of the Speicher base massacre in Tikrit, which every year provides an opportunity for Iraqis and interested governmental and non-governmental institutions concerned with this matter, to express their respect and appreciation for the sacrifices of the martyrs and honor their families, and to publicize the crimes committed against the Iraqi people by the ISIS terrorist organization, including the Speicher massacre".

He stressed that"the efforts of the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine to document terrorist crimes, publish encyclopedias, hold seminars, festivals and conferences are highly appreciated and an example to follow in government agencies and institutions, and government and other efforts must be joined in various forms at the level of universities and study centers, to publicize the crimes committed, document and immortalize their victims, demand justice for the families of martyrs and properly compensate them, and hold the perpetrators accountable for the crimes they committed against Iraqis".

He explained, "over the past three years, we have been responding to the invitations we receive from the holy shrines in general, and the Iraqi Center for documenting crimes of extremism and terrorism in particular, with the aim of joint cooperation and the establishment of activities and events, as last year we held a special forum for cultural and religious diplomacy, and we highlighted the efforts of the supreme religious authority and its institutions, holy shrines and projects in various fields."

"We hope that our cooperation with the holy shrine, which provides great services to Iraqis, will continue in various aspects at the level of education, health, agriculture, housing, culture, organizing religious Ziyarats and communicating with Muslims and believers in different countries of the world,"he said.
