Ritual Department: the movement of the condolence processions is going very smoothly

The Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies in Iraq and the Islamic world confirmed that the movement of condolence processions is proceeding smoothly and according to what was planned.

The assistant head of the Department, Mr. Mohammed al-Taweel, said that "the Husseini processions participating in the first ten of the month of Muharram, proceeded smoothly according to the plan prepared for this year".

He added,"the number of condolence and service processions participating in the Ziyarat of Ashura reached about 600 processions from inside Iraq and 9 procession from outside, where the staff of the department began to provide services that would facilitate the work of the owners of the Husseini processions, and manage their movement during the days of the Ziyarat."

He continued, "this year, the department launched a qualitative competition for the Hussaini processions and was called the "ideal procession", where it will honor the ideal procession that meets the conditions set by the department, including the services it provides to visitors, cleanliness, preservation of public property and others."

The movement of the processions took place according to a plan and schedule prepared by the department, where their march is through specific streets leading to the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him) passing through the Holy Courtyard, and then they exit from the imam al-Hassan gate(Peace be upon him) to conclude at the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn(Peace be upon him), walking through the square between the Two Holy Shrines, according to al-Taweel.
