A new hope.. Al-Kafeel hospital saves the lives of 69 children from heart patients

Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital announced that in recent months it has performed 69 open heart operations for children with congenital heart defects as part of the medical recruitment program.

The Ministry of Health recently sent 50 children of heart patients to be treated by the hospital's medical teams, and the success rate of the operations was high due to the availability of expertise and techniques.

The director of the Cardiac Surgery Center at the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Aboudi, said: "in recent months, the center has conducted 69 open heart operations for children with congenital heart defects sent by the Ministry of health as part of the medical recruitment program," indicating that "a medical team composed of Iraqi and foreign surgeons is conducting these operations, and the success rate is high thanks to the availability of experience and medical techniques."

"We have recently received the fourth batch of children with congenital heart abnormalities within the medical recruitment program of the Ministry of health," he added, noting that "a specialized medical committee at the hospital conducts the examination and thorough examinations of these children to determine the condition and the possibility of conducting and initiating the operation."

Abboud stressed that "our success constitutes a point of benefit for the Iraqi patient to dispense with traveling abroad for treatment, and working with the Ministry of Health for a long time in treating patients of complex cases, especially congenital heart abnormalities for children."
