The condolence processions began, in the early hours of the morning of this seventh day of the month of Safar, with condolence processions that roamed the streets of the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the sad anniversary and embody the scale of the tragedy.
The believers extended condolences to Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) on the martyrdom anniversary of "Kareem (the generous)" Ahl al-Bayt Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon them), stressing the continuation of commemorating the painful occasions of the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) every year, and renewing the covenant to follow the approach given by the Ahl al-Bayt (may Allah's prayers be upon them).
Mr. Sadiq Hussein al-Anbari, one of the Husseini processions Servants, said that "the people of Karbala used to commemorate the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) every year and go out with condolence marches; in commemoration of the sad tragedy".
He added that"the condolence events included the funeral of the symbolic coffin of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), starting from the Baghdad gate area towards the two holy shrines, and the recitation of the Husseini lamentations, and the establishment of a condolence Council in the Courtyard of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)".
For his part, one of the Husseini processions servants; Sayed Jassim Hussein, said that " Husseini condolence processions roamed the streets of the holy city of Karbala, chanting Husseini lamentations, and raising black flags expressing sadness and pain over the oppression of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The Husseini rites and processions department is working on developing an integrated plan to commemorate religious events, receive mourners, facilitate the performance of their Ziyarat and enter the holy shrines.
