The procession of the people of Karbala commemorates the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) in Najaf

The procession of the people of Karbala commemorated the martyrdom anniversart of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) at the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon him) in Najaf, through a unified condolences procession.

The assistant head of the Department of Hussayni Rituals and Processions; Sayed Mohammad al-Taweel, said that"the processions of the people of Karbala gathered today with all its varieties, parties and bodies in cooperation with the Department of Rituals to descend in a unified condolences procession representing the people of Karbala; to offer condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) at the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (peace be upon him)".

He added that"the procession of the people of Karbala continues to commemorate the occasions of the prophet and the Ahl al-Bayt (Allah's prayers be upon them) and to remember them in Karbala or outside, including commemorating this sad anniversary, which is the martyrdom anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household)".

This condolences procession is an annual tradition used to be held by the people of Karbala to commemorate the occasions of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as an elite group of Karbala processions unites in addition to a group of people from the province in a great condolence heading towards the city of Najaf.
