The green belt department starts growing vegetable crops

The staffs of the southern green belt department of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine have started planting autumn vegetable crops.

The head of the Department, Mr. Nasser Hussein Miteb, said that "the abundance of water and energy sources, along with manpower, provided the opportunity for the green belt Department to start growing vegetable crops in order to invest open land in it".

"The crops that were planted in the lands located within the southern green belt department included various varieties of autumn crops, including eggplants, tomatoes, and various types of vegetables,"he added.

"The department is working on the cultivation of these crops in order to provide the host department of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with them, and provide them at the green belt outlets and the holy shrine outlets for marketing these crops, in addition to supplying local markets in order to make them available to citizens,"Miteb said.
