The medical teams at Al-Kafeel hospital continue the success of their kidney transplant operations

The medical teams at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality hospital continue to successfully perform kidney transplants, the last of which was for a thirty-year-old man from Diwaniyah.

The specialist in organ transplantation at the hospital, Dr. Asaad Abdel Aoun, said that "a medical team succeeded in a kidney transplant operation for a 34-year-old man from the city of Diwaniyah, after his sister donated her kidney to him, and this came after conducting the necessary tests for them to confirm the genetic match between them; in order to conduct the operation and ensure its success".

He added that"the young patient was suffering from complete kidney failure accompanied by inflammation of the liver, and underwent a number of tests in order to prepare him for the operation".

Abdel Aoun explained that "the kidney that we transplanted began to work immediately, after an operation that lasted for three hours continuously, in addition to performing a nephrectomy from the donor, and this came using the periscope technique without surgical opening," stressing that "the health status of the donor and the patient is stable, and they did not have any complications, and the two operations were carried out as planned".
