How did the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine contribute to supporting the health sector in Iraq?

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continues its contribution to the development of the health sector in Iraq, through projects aimed at strengthening health services and supporting national efforts.

Health projects
The most prominent projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in the health field is the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, which was established on an area of (10,000) square meters in the center of Karbala governorate, the hospital can accommodate 200 beds, and is an advanced medical edifice, uses the latest medical technologies and attracts high-level competencies, and then the Holy Shrine expanded to establish new medical projects, such as Al-Zaki hospital in Babylon governorate, which has reached advanced stages of construction and is implemented on an area of (6.5) dunums, with a capacity of 230 beds.

Support and care of orphans
The efforts of the holy shrine include the orphans segment, where it established the Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her) center for dental Prevention, which provides its humanitarian services to the segment of orphaned children.

The Universities of Al-Kafeel and Al-Ameed have opened dental clinics, to provide services to more than 1,500 patients per month during the academic year, in the provinces of Najaf and Karbala.

Health services in the major Ziyarats
The services of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine do not stop at fixed projects, but extend during large religious events as well. The holy shrine has established the Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her) medical center, which provides its services around the clock, as its services peaked during the Ziyarat Arba'een, and more than 4 million visitors benefited from its services. The Al-Kafeel Center for Health and Public Safety also provides first aid and medical evacuation services, as it contributed to providing health care for more than 2000 cases during the last Ziyarat Arba'een.

Facing the corona pandemic
In light of the corona pandemic, the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine had a role in supporting health efforts, as it established seven buildings for health isolation in the provinces of Karbala, Baghdad, Babylon, Muthanna, and Najaf, in addition to building laboratories for the production of medical oxygen to meet the needs of the patients.

Pharmaceutical Industries
The Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine established the Al-Joud laboratory for intravenous solutions, which is one of the most important pilot projects established by the Holy Shrine to support the health sector in Iraq, the plant aims to enhance drug security in the country, by providing large quantities of intravenous fluids that are an essential part of medical care, and the plant contributes to meeting the needs of hospitals and health centers by producing millions of bottles of nutritious solutions with high quality, which reduces dependence on imports and promotes self-sufficiency in this field. The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine marks an important step towards improving health care and ensuring the continuity of the provision of essential medicines to hospitals throughout Iraq.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine continues its support for the health sector in Iraq and seeks to serve the Iraqi society in all its categories, especially in exceptional circumstances.
