Mr. Abbas Mohammed, head of agricultural guidance in the project, said:"the northern green belt project staff has started planting a variety of vegetables and palm trees to increase green spaces, Combat Desertification, and fortify the Environmental Quality in the region as part of its continuous efforts to develop the project."
"The project has been planted with palm trees, as the number of palm trees planted has reached 3850 palm trees, and it can be increased in the coming days, and 4000 eucalyptus trees have been planted on the left side of the project to protect it from winds and dust that affect it,"he added.
"The vegetables that were planted in the project are: radish of two types, spinach, cucumber, celery, basil and other vegetables,"Mohammed pointed out.
He added that " the northern green belt project uses solar panels in the process of pumping water for the project through two stations, one of which has a capacity of 10 horsepower," noting that "the benefit of installing solar energy systems in the project came to control the delivery of irrigation water to the farthest point."
