The start of the activities of the Fatimi season of sorrows in the area between the Two Holy Shrines

The square between the Two Holy Shrines witnessed the launch of the activities of the eighteenth edition of the Fatimi season of sorrows, in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), according to the second narration.

These events are supervised by the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies.

The opening of the events was attended by the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, and the secretary general of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Hassan Rasheed al-Obaiji, along with a number of officials of the two holy shrines, and the staff of the Hussayni processions.

Aal Dia-Uddin said: "the Fatimi season of sorrow is held annually; in commemoration of the misfortune of the martyrdom of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) according to the second narration, and includes several condolence activities that embody some of the details of the auspicious biography of her memory".

He added that"the season includes a panorama about the family life of as-Siddiqa al-Tahera (peace be upon her) in her home, the incident of the attack on her, and a figure simulating the House of Sorrows built for her by the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and another figure of the burial of the pure body."

"The events of the Fatimi season of Sorrows are held with the participation of a group of processions and hussayni bodies, with the aim of conveying the oppression of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) to the world and reminding what happened to her, in addition to embodying the greatness of this painful tragedy,"Aal Dia-Uddin continued.
