The ceremony, which was held at the Qibla Gate courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), witnessed the presence of Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a member of the holy shrine's Board of directors, a number of its officials, religious figures, in addition to a large number of visitors who flocked to celebrate this occasion.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and then Sheikh Haydar al-Aredhi delivered a speech at the Holy Shrine, in which he congratulated those present and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Ali Akbar (peace be upon him).
In his speech, Al-Aredhi touched upon aspects of the blessed biography of Ali al-Akbar (peace be upon him), pointing to his virtues and his great role in establishing the principles of justice, and his impact on reforming the nation.
For his part, a member of the central celebrations committee at the holy shrine; Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said: "the ceremony included making ceremonial speeches, presenting poems, in addition to religious songs for the Blessed anniversary.
"The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners of the electronic cultural competition prepared by the general secretariat of the holy shrine, as ten winners were honored in this competition,"al-Yasiri added.
The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is keen to organize cultural and awareness-raising events on special occasions for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), believing in the role of these events in promoting religious culture among visitors.
