Sponsored by the Two Holy Shrines.. Holding the eighteenth annual central Festival to celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) in Babylon

The eighteenth annual Central festival was held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), under the auspices of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them), in the city of Hilla.

The festival is organized by the supreme body of the Hilla project, Imam Hassan City (peace be upon him), in cooperation with the secretariat of the shrine of Sayyid Abdullah Al-Fares.

The head of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said that "the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them) are holding the eighteenth annual central Festival to celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), in the city of Hilla in cooperation with the supreme body of the Hilla project, the city of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him)".

He added that"the festival included feminist events, a celebration of scientific figures, as well as the central celebration held at the shrine of Sayyid Abdullah Al-Fares, one of the grandsons of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), which included a set of events, including: reciting poems and songs, and honoring a number of servants of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)".

He pointed out that"the city of Hilla is called the city of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), as the roots of this designation date back to the sixties of the last century, at the initiative and guidance of His Eminence the religious authority Sayed Mohsen al-Hakim, and the people of Hilla have been celebrating this occasion, which lasted two or three years since that time before it stopped, to resume after the year 2003, with the support of the Two Holy Shrines".

For his part, the dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the University of Babylon, Dr. Hassan Obaid al-Mamouri, said that "the city of Hilla was honored to bear the name of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for several reasons, including: the shrines of the descendants of the imam (peace be upon him) are spread in the city, as well as for the generosity of its people, similar to the generosity of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), in addition to the fact that the religious authority has assigned each province the name of an imam since the Sixties, and Hilla was honored to bear the blessed name of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him)".

He continued, " the celebration of this blessed occasion came to perpetuate the presence momentum of the personality of the role model, which was represented by the personality of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him); to enhance the impact of the role model in the behavior of people and society, and to confront the tendentious things spread by the enemies of Islam targeting the societal structure and the personality of the Muslim individual," stressing that "true Islam has no alternative and is represented by the imams of the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) as they are one of the two weights along the Holy Quran, according to the Thaqalayn Hadith narrated by the Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household)".
