The Department of intellectual Affairs offers a specialized course in the restoration of manuscripts for the University of Mosul

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provided a specialized training course in the field of manuscript restoration and maintenance for the library of the University of Mosul.

The director of the al-Fadl Center for the preservation of manuscript heritage and documentary archive of the Department, Mr. Laith Lutfi, said: "the center continues to provide specialized training courses for the staff of the Mosul University Library, as the technical team at the center is working on training the library staff on the maintenance and preservation of heritage, as well as installing modern technical devices necessary for work, and explaining the associated systems in a practical and applied manner."

He added that"the course lasts for two weeks in its first phase, followed by the follow-up of the work of the library staff remotely, and the second phase will be launched later within a comprehensive development framework for the restoration of manuscripts and the preservation of rare documents".

This project comes in the context of the continuous efforts exerted by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to protect and preserve Iraqi heritage, in cooperation with academic and cultural institutions in various governorates.
