The al-Wafi foundation for documentation and studies at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced the work on the completion of the project (preservation of oral memory), to preserve the history of Iraq from forgery and oblivion.
The president of the foundation, Mr. Ahmed Sadeq, said: "the al-Wafi Foundation, as part of its series of publications and achievements, is working on the completion of the (oral memory preservation) project, which aims to present vivid testimonies with figures who have lived through historical eras that the country has gone through, including the period of the ISIS terrorist gangs.
He added that"the project includes hundreds of meetings with the adherents of the supreme religious authority to document their role in the era of the former regime and the battles against ISIS, in addition to highlighting the suffering of political prisoners during the era of the former regime, as well as presenting the role of Husseini processions in that period, in addition to organizing interviews with statesmen and security forces leaders who participated in the liberation battles".
Sadeq explained that"the project contains testimonies of religious figures from various sects about the role of the Holy Defense fatwa issued by the supreme religious authority in Najaf in countering ISIS gangs, in addition to meetings with a number of university professors to provide scientific analytical readings of the various stages that Iraq has gone through.
The head of the foundation pointed out that"the project, after its completion, will be presented in the form of documentary films that include the living testimonies that have been documented, so as to be a reliable reference for future generations and contribute to the preservation of the national memory from oblivion or distortion".
