The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard of the Bab al-Qibla at the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), was attended by officials from the holy shrine, religious figures, and a gathering of visitors who came to celebrate this occasion.
The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the officials of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them), delivered by Sheikh Salah al-Karbalaei, the head of the Religious Affairs Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine. He started by extending congratulations to the attendees and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary, and he touched upon various stages of Imam ar-Redha's (peace be upon him) life, his status, and the challenges he faced.
A member of the Central Celebrations Committee at the holy shrine; Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said, "The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organizes its annual central celebration on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam ar-Redha in the courtyard of the Bab al-Qibla of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."
He added, "The ceremony includes several segments, such as the recitation of poetry and hymns, in addition to speeches from the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them), and the distribution of prizes to the winners of the electronic competition launched by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine earlier, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Masooma and Imam ar-Redha (peace be upon them)."
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen on instilling the meanings of love and loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) by commemorating religious occasions and spreading their noble teachings.
