Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital successfully performed a delicate surgery on a 14-year-old patient from the Babylon governorate who suffered from a wound on the cornea of the eye.
Dr. Haider Abbas, an eye surgery specialist at the hospital, said:"the operation for the child came after an unsuccessful surgery performed in one of the hospitals several months ago."
He added that"the patient's condition required an advanced surgery, as the vitreous fluid was cut in the affected right eye, and a lens was implanted in a qualitative way, known as (the method of suspending the lens inside the sclera of the eye)".
He continued, " the reason for resorting to this method is the patient's complete loss of the lens socket, which made traditional methods of lens implantation unsuitable," pointing out that "this method, advanced devices and great expertise at Al-Kafeel hospital, helped the medical team to achieve excellent results."
