The Projects Department announces pumping about 8 million liters of filtered water during the major Ziyarats

The Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced the pumping of about 8 million liters of filtered water during the major Ziyarats to serve visitors.

The official of the water division of the Department; Sayed Ahmad al-Hasnawi, said that "providing safe drinking water is one of the most important services supervised by the engineering projects department, especially during the major Ziyarats, and in the summer and high temperatures, as the station produces one million liters of safe drinking water daily".

"The amount of filtered water pumped during the major Ziyarats is about 8 million liters, while the amount varies during normal days between 3 to 4 million liters,"he added.

"Potable water is pumped to the trams and manholes scattered inside and outside the Holy Sanctuary, in addition to sprinklers located on the main streets, as well as in an area between the Two Holy Shrines, while filtered water is pumped to the sanitary aggregates and ablution complexes, as well as to the host complex of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), where it is used for cooking food and washing utensils,"Al-Hasnawi said.

"The water quality has been verified through a specialized on-site laboratory, which conducts tests periodically and around the clock, to ensure integrated health results, as for drinking water is of the RO type and the percentage of salts in it is between 30 to 60 parts per million, as for filtered water, it goes through filtering and purification processes to remove odors, dust and impurities,"he added.

He pointed out that"the Central Station is fed by three main sources: liquefaction water, river water and groundwater, where water is withdrawn from these sources and purified from soil, impurities and odors, and then pumped to consumption outlets".
