The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has begun constructing a modern market as part of the expansion project

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has begun constructing a modern market as part of the ongoing expansion project to serve the visitors.

The head of the Engineering Projects Department, Engineer Diaa al-Sa'egh, stated that the holy shrine, within its vision aimed at developing the infrastructure of the city of Karbala and preserving its heritage identity, has begun constructing a modern contemporary market as part of the expansion and development project of the large courtyard of the Bab Al-Qibla of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), extending from Bab Al-Qibla to Al-Jumhuriya Street.

He added that the project includes the establishment of a market consisting of modern commercial shops, located behind the new courtyard's arcades on the first floor, on both the right and left sides, and directly connected to the old markets, such as the Saffarin Market, Bab al-Khan Market, and Al-Allawi Market. This is in response to the directives of the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, regarding the necessity of preserving the heritage of the old city, where the markets are an important part of the city's identity.

Al-Sa'egh added that the new market is distinguished by being air-conditioned and equipped with all modern services, while preserving the Karbala style in design and Islamic decoration, harmonizing with the old Karbala markets, to create a comfortable environment for visitors and the city's residents.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine pays special attention to expansion projects to accommodate the largest number of visitors to the holy shrines and provide them with the best services.
