The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine celebrated the graduation of more than 13,000 students from the summer Quranic courses project in the province of Karbala.
The Quranic Institute, affiliated with the Scientific Academy of the Holy Quran at the Holy Shrine, supervised the organisation of the courses.
The celebration activities were held at the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) Service Complex, affiliated with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in the presence of its Deputy Secretary, Mr. Abbas Mousa, along with several officials and religious and academic figures.
The ceremony began with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs' souls. Then, the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem "Pride's Tune" were played, in addition to a speech from the holy shrine delivered by the Deputy Head of the Scientific Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tamimi.
Al-Tamimi affirmed in his speech that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine looks forward through these courses to shaping a person who embodies the words of God the Almighty and is guided by His verses, in a time when values are tossed between the waves of doubts and tribulations."
The director of the Quranic Institute, Sheikh Jawad Al-Nasrawi, stated that the ceremony included several segments, among them a speech by the participating students delivered by the student Abbas Maytham Hadi, who is of determination. He highlighted the most important lessons covered in the courses, such as beliefs, jurisprudence, ethics, and biography, in addition to a brief explanation of some of the topics addressed in the Quranic courses regarding teaching the correct reading of the verses of the Holy Quran.
He added that the ceremony also included a film showing the importance of summer courses, in addition to the participating students chanting the anthem "With the Quran We Live," which represents a pledge of loyalty to follow the authentic Quranic path.
The Scientific Academy of the Holy Quran holds these courses annually during the summer school vacation period to fill students' time with beneficial activities and to ensure the upbringing of a righteous generation that loves the Holy Quran and the teachings of Islam, guided by the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
