The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to hold its mourning councils in the reception hall to commemorate the month of Muharram for the year 1447 AH.
The council began with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a lecture delivered by Sheikh Hazem Al-Attawani. He discussed glimpses from the life of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his journey with his family to Karbala, the impact of that eternal journey in supporting the truth and reviving the principles of justice, as well as lessons of patience, sacrifice, and devotion.
The council was attended by a number of the servants of the holy shrine and its officials, as well as several visiting mourners.
The lecturer touched upon aspects of the biography of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and the qualities of bravery, selflessness, and immortal deeds he possessed.
The council concluded with the recitation of elegies and Hussaini poems that embodied the painful memory and instilled deep sorrow and great anguish in the hearts, amidst an atmosphere of sadness that enveloped the attendees.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is keen on holding Hussaini councils with the aim of reviving the memory of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and conveying their knowledge, virtues, and noble biography.
