The Squad commander, Mr. Maytham Al-Zaydi, said that the conference addressed several key points, most notably the security and service aspects. The division will participate with 15,000 personnel to provide various services to visitors from the border crossings (Shalamcheh, Al-Shib, Zurbatiyah, Al-Mundhiriyah, and Safwan) up to the center of the holy city of Karbala.
He added that this year's plan includes an expansion in the volume of services by 20% compared to last year, and the distribution of 1,500 volunteers within the center of Karbala city to provide various services to visitors, in addition to the service and humanitarian work carried out by the squad in different areas.
He added that the service processions affiliated with the squad will provide three main meals daily, in addition to intermediate meals, along with their three processions distributed within the city. The number of meals they provided last year exceeded two million meals, with the support of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
Regarding the security aspect, Al-Zaydi explained that the division's personnel are responsible for securing the entrances to the city of Karbala from the northern direction towards Baghdad, the eastern direction towards Babylon, and the southern direction towards Najaf, in addition to their tasks in the internal sectors of the holy city center.
