The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues the construction of the (Second Al-Kafeel Secondary Power Station)

The engineering projects department staff at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continue the construction of the second Al-Kafeel secondary electrical power station.

The engineer on the project, Muhammad Fouad Murtada, said: "The station's capacity is 2×31.5 (MVA) and it aims to supply the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine and its projects located within the boundaries of the old city, which enhances electrical stability and relieves the loads on the general grid."

He added that "the project is progressing according to three main phases; the first phase involved laying the feeder cables for the station and equipping it with 33 kV voltage and a cross-section of 1×400 mm². The second phase includes installing the main components of the station and operating it, along with the transformers and associated equipment. The third and final phase involves extending the outgoing cables from the station with 11 kV voltage and a cross-section of 3×150 mm²."

Mortada pointed out that "all the equipment and components involved in this project are from reputable global sources, particularly from Schneider Electric, and in accordance with the general specifications approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity."
