The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani, issued a statement regarding the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.
And it was stated in the text of the statement:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful..
After nearly two years of continuous killing and destruction, which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the demolition of entire cities and residential complexes, the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are currently suffering from extremely poor living conditions, especially due to the scarcity of food supplies that has caused a widespread famine, affecting even children, the sick, and the elderly.
And if the expected behavior of the occupying forces is nothing but this horrific savagery, in the context of their continuous attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland, then the expected response from the countries of the world, especially the Arab and Islamic countries, is not to allow the continuation of this great humanitarian tragedy, but rather to intensify their efforts to put an end to it, and to do everything they can to compel the occupying entity and its protectors to allow the delivery of food supplies and other living necessities to the innocent civilians as soon as possible.
The horrifying scenes of the rampant famine in the sector, as reported by the media, do not allow any person with a conscience to enjoy food or drink.
Rather, as the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), said regarding the assault on a woman in the land of Islam: "If a Muslim man were to die out of sorrow after this, he would not be blamed, but rather he would be deserving of it in my view."
There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
