The head of the department, Dr. Haifa Al-Tamimi, said: "The department has been providing medical, health, and therapeutic services to the visitors of Arbaeen. 80% of the medical posts have been operational, and the number of posts this year has reached 25, in addition to the two posts of Umm al-Baneen and Al-Siddiqa Al-Tahira (peace be upon them). All of them are distributed inside and outside the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and along the main routes of the city of Karbala, in the Sheik Al-Kulayni complex on the Baghdad route, the Al-Alqami complex on the Babylon route, and the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) complex for serving visitors on the Najaf route."
Al-Tamimi indicated that "the number of male volunteers reached about 400 from the medical and health staff, in addition to 500 paramedics, and 36 Persian language translators distributed among the checkpoints, while the number of female volunteers reached 750, including 300 doctors, along with Iranian female staff including doctors and translators."
The head of the department mentioned that "the number of ambulances participating in providing services this year reached 25 vehicles, including seven vehicles specifically for the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, five transport ambulances, in addition to ten ambulances provided by the Medical Operations Department in the Ministry of Health, including two fully equipped vehicles with ECG and X-ray machines, staffed by specialized doctors to provide medical services to the visitors."
She added that "the Wasit Health Directorate contributed about 110 female volunteers who started providing dental services after installing the specialized equipment for that purpose in the group of Al-Khansaa (peace be upon her) at Al-Ameed University."
Al-Tamimi confirmed, "The participation of two main detachments from Bahrain, one dedicated to dentistry opposite Bab Al-Alqami, and the other in the Bab Baghdad area, providing comprehensive health services for women and children, with approximately 120 doctors and nurses, in addition to the presence of an Iranian doctor in each detachment within the detachments of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine."
Al-Tamimi pointed out that "this year's efforts focus on improving the efficiency of medical services and enhancing coordination with health departments in the provinces to ensure a safe and integrated treatment environment for the Arbaeen visitors."
