The Hussaini processions and organisations commemorated the eighteenth of Safar at the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

The Hussaini processions set off with mourning marches that traversed the streets of the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

The processions witness wide participation from mourners from various parts of Iraq and the world, who are keen on commemorating this painful tragedy; embodying the principles of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his great sacrifices in the pursuit of truth and justice.

The Department of Rituals, Processions, and Hussaini Bodies has assigned teams to accompany each procession from the moment it starts until its conclusion. These teams are responsible for organising the march, preventing gatherings or overcrowding, and following specific routes to ensure there is no intersection between one procession and another, or with the visitors.
