The Southern Green Belt Department begins the second phase of olive harvesting in its oases

The staff of the Southern Green Belt Division One, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, have begun the second phase of olive harvesting in their oases.

The head of the department, Mr. Nasser Hussein Mit'ab, said: "The department's staff have begun the second phase of the olive harvest, which is considered one of the main crops in these oases that contain four types of olive trees."

He added that "the production for this season has seen a significant increase compared to last year, allowing us to supply the local markets with high-quality olives through the outlets of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine."

The Green Belt Department supplies local markets with crops that are grown within it periodically and continuously, and it also serves as a recreational area for families and visitors coming to Karbala Governorate.
