The mourning processions in the holy city of Karbala commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja'far as-Sadeq (peace be upon him), in collaboration with the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions, and Bodies.
The crowds of mourners and their processions set out toward the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), passing through the area between the two holy shrines, to roam the streets surrounding the two holy shrines, expressing the depth of this painful tragedy.
The processions raised banners that included information about their locations, as well as the year each procession was established, in a framework that highlights their identity and organization, and reflects their historical extension in serving the Hussayni rituals.
The Rituals Department prepared a comprehensive organizational plan, which included regulating the movement of processions and the smooth passage of visitors, ensuring that the mourning and Ziyarat ceremonies are conducted easily and smoothly.
