The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announces the deadline for participation in the Sacred Defense Fatwa Festival competitions

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the final deadline for submitting entries in the short story competition and the classical poetry competition, as part of the activities of the tenth edition of the Sacred Defense Fatwa Festival.

The festival is held under the slogan: "The Religious Authority is the Fortress of the Islamic Nation," and it is organized by the Departments of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Al-Wafi Institution for Documentation and Studies at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, from June 11-12, 2026.

The holy shrine has set the final date for receiving submissions as (15/5/2026), inviting writers, authors, and poets to seize the opportunity to participate and showcase their literary talents.

The two competitions include ten prizes awarded to the winners, as part of supporting literary and cultural talents, and reviving the sacred Fatwa of Defense that contributed to preserving Iraq and its sanctities.
