The Scientific Quranic Complex at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held two mourning councils to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer and the ambassador of Imam al-Hussayn, Muslim ibn Aqeel (peace be upon them), in Najaf Ashraf.
The two councils were organized by the Quranic Institute in Najaf al-Ashraf, which is affiliated with the complex.
The Recitation Unit at the institute organized the first council, which began with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reciter Ali Al-Zubaidi. This was followed by an enlightening religious lecture delivered by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Khuwailidi, in which he discussed the noble biography of Imam Mohammad Al-Baqer and Muslim bin Aqeel (peace be upon them), their scientific virtues, intellectual status, as well as their oppression and role in establishing the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
While the Quranic Memorization and Guidance Unit of the institute oversaw the holding of the second council, which was inaugurated with a beautiful recitation of the Quran by the student Ali Redha Ahmed, followed by a religious lecture by Mr. Mahdi Al-Baaj, who reviewed the scientific and intellectual aspects of the lives of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer and Muslim ibn Aqeel (peace be upon them), and the extent of the suffering they faced in spreading the teachings of the family of Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon them).
The councils emphasized the importance of commemorating the occasions related to the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), due to their educational and intellectual content that enhances religious awareness and moral values, while stressing the continuation of awareness-raising activities aimed at establishing Quranic culture and connecting with the lives of the holy Imams (peace be upon them).
