The Media Department and the delegation from the Communications and Media Commission discuss the media plan for the Ziyarat Ashura and Arbaeen

The Media Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine discussed with the delegation from the Media and Communications Commission/ Karbala Office, the media plan for the Ziyarat Ashura and Arbaeen.

The head of the department, Mr. Ali Al-Badri, said: "We were honored today to receive a delegation from the Media and Communications Authority/ Karbala Office, to discuss the media plans for the visits of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) during Ashura and Arbaeen, in addition to coordinating joint efforts to facilitate the tasks of journalists coming to Karbala."

He added, "We reviewed in the meeting the (Media) application produced by the department's staff, which represents an advanced step in serving journalists, as it allows obtaining filming permits inside the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them) and the approaches to the old city."

Al-Badri explained that "the meeting resulted in a set of agreements that will contribute to facilitating the work of journalists, especially those arriving in Iraq from border crossings, thruough the adoption of a special barcode for the (Media) application in coordination with the authority's offices located at those crossings."

He explained that "these meetings are held annually with institutions and bodies specialized in media work; with the aim of integrating the services provided to journalists and visitors during the coverage of the Ziyarat Ashura and Arbaeen ceremonies."

For his part, the Director of the Media and Communications Authority Office in Karbala, Dr. Mithaq Al-Tamimi, mentioned: "The prior coordination between the holy shrines and the relevant state institutions is considered an annual practice in preparation for the months of Muharram and Safar, which contributes to facilitating the work procedures of incoming journalists and media personnel, and organizing media coverage plans for the major Ziyarats in line with the magnitude and significance of this great humanitarian event."

He added that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen to provide all the necessary facilities to ensure the success of the media's work, based on the pivotal role that the media plays in conveying events and highlighting the human values and principles embodied by the major Ziyarats."

Al-Tamimi explained that "the holy shrine prepared a comprehensive center last year to receive journalists, which facilitates the procedures for granting photography and media coverage permits in the area between the two holy shrines and the old city, in addition to providing rest areas and high-speed internet services; ensuring the quick sending and uploading of media materials to various institutions and media channels."
