The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has counted the services it provided to the visitors of the shrine of the two Imams (peace be upon them) in the city of Samarra, as part of its special plan to commemorate the Ziyarat Ashura.
The head of the holy shrine's delegation, Mr. Khalil Mahdi Hanoun, said, "The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has dedicated its resources through its service procession in Samarra to provide various services to the visitors, as part of the Al-Kafeel campaign dedicated to serving the visitors arriving at the shrine of the two Imams (peace be upon them)."
He added that "the plan included providing more than 400 vehicles to transport mourners from the holy provinces of Karbala, Baghdad, and Kirkuk, in addition to offering more than 20,000 meals distributed into three main meals, along with distributing thousands of cups of chilled water and between-meal snacks, which included cold drinks, tea, and more."
Hannoun explained that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine also organized a mourning procession on the eve of the eleventh of Muharram (the Night of Loneliness), in which crowds of believers participated, carrying candles. It concluded at the shrine of the two Imams al-Askariyyayn (peace be upon them), followed by participation in the mourning assembly held inside the holy courtyard."
He pointed out that "the holy shrine also oversaw the organization of the mourning processions from Kirkuk province in the city of Samarra, in coordination with the representatives of the supreme religious authority in the province, as 100 vehicles were allocated to transport the mourners, along with providing meals and necessary services for them."
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to implement its mourning and service plan through its various departments and formations, to provide the best services to the visitors and to revive the rituals of the month of Muharram.
