The area between the two holy shrines witnessed the organization of the largest mourning banquet in the name of Lady Ruqayyah (peace be upon her), coinciding with the anniversary of her martyrdom.

The organization of the journey is overseen by the Global Forum for the Servants of Lady Ruqayyah (peace be upon her), in coordination with the holy shrines of Imam alHussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

The head of the Between the Two Holy Shrines Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Hussam Hussein, said: Under the guidance of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine, the department, in collaboration with the people of Karbala, has been accustomed to organizing the Sofra of Lady Ruqayyah, daughter of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon them), on the anniversary of her martyrdom for the fourteenth consecutive year.

He added that the department, in collaboration with the relevant departments at the holy shrine, has prepared all the necessary arrangements for holding the event. The efforts included providing display screens, live broadcasting services for visitors, sound systems, and preparing designated seating areas for visitors, all of which contribute to creating the appropriate atmosphere to commemorate this painful memory.

The trip included many segments, such as the recitation of poetic and elegiac verses mourning this painful tragedy, attended by a number of reciters, poets, and mourners, in addition to a theatrical performance that depicted the life of Lady Ruqayyah (peace be upon her). Children gathered wearing green clothes, recalling her life and what she witnessed in the tragic event of Ashura.

The holy city of Karbala is one of hundreds of cities around the world that organize a mourning meal in commemoration of the martyrdom of Lady Ruqayyah (peace be upon her) to convey her suffering to all people.
