The mourning processions commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) at the two holy shrines

The mourning processions commemorated the martyrdom of Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) on the seventh day of Safar at the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

The roads leading to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) witnessed the arrival of mourning processions carrying banners of mourning and reciting elegies and lamentations that embody the sorrow of the tragic event of Ashura.

The Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions, and Bodies, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, has prepared a special plan to organize the smooth movement of mourning processions. This plan includes defining specific routes for each procession, which helps avoid overlap between the processions and the visitors.
