The procession of the people of holy Karbala commemorated the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) at the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) in Najaf Ashraf, with the support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

The procession, coordinated with the Department of Rituals, Processions, and Hussaini Bodies affiliated with the Holy Shrine, set off to the city of Najaf Al-Ashraf to offer condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) at the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him).

The procession included a mourning march that started from Sheikh Al-Tusi Street to the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him, with the participation of most factions of the city of Karbala and its various groups, as well as the Hussaini organizations and the local residents. It concluded with a mourning assembly held in the courtyard of the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has worked on preparing some logistical and service matters, including providing vehicles for transporting visitors back and forth from the city of Karbala to Najaf Ashraf, in addition to coordinating the movement of the procession.

The people of the city of Karbala are keen on commemorating the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), including the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), with the aim of following their path and emulating them (peace be upon them).

The procession of the people of holy Karbala is considered an annual tradition that the locals have become accustomed to holding in order to commemorate the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
