The Southern Green Belt One begins harvesting the pomegranate crop

The Southern Green Belt First Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has begun harvesting the Iraqi pomegranate crop from its agricultural oases, as part of its current season.

The head of the agriculture division, Mr. Sajad Hussein, said: "The staff of the planting and harvesting unit have started the campaign to harvest the Iraqi pomegranate crop within the agricultural areas of the first southern green belt."

He added that "the harvesting campaign is ongoing and aims to meet market needs, in addition to supporting the abundance of local agricultural products."

The Southern Green Belt extends for more than 13 kilometers and includes various agricultural areas, in addition to recreational and service sites designated for families.
